Our Company
Built on careful thinking, not hype
Pulsarai was founded in Petaling Jaya with a straightforward belief: that AI should serve organisations in ways that are practical, maintainable, and genuinely understood by the people using it.
Back to HomeOur Story
How Pulsarai came to be
Pulsarai began in 2019 as a small consultancy working with Malaysian manufacturing firms that wanted to understand whether AI could help with production quality. The early work was unglamorous: cleaning datasets, building simple classifiers, and explaining neural network outputs to operations managers who rightly asked hard questions about reliability and cost.
That period shaped how we think about AI projects today. We learned that the most important part of a deployment isn't the model — it's the trust the people around it are willing to extend to it. That trust is built through transparency, measured claims, and careful handovers.
Over time, the practice expanded to include natural language systems and integration architecture work, serving clients in logistics, financial services, healthcare administration, and retail. The team has grown, but the way we approach projects has stayed consistent.
Our Mission
What we're here to do
Make AI operational, not aspirational
We focus on AI systems that work reliably in real environments — not proof-of-concept demos. Every engagement ends with a deployed, monitored, documented solution.
Keep clients informed and capable
We build in knowledge transfer from the start. Clients should finish an engagement understanding what they have, how it works, and how to evolve it.
Work within ethical and legal frameworks
We maintain awareness of Malaysia's PDPA, emerging AI governance guidelines, and sector-specific data standards — and we factor these into every project from day one.
The Team
People behind the work
Razif Nordin
Founder & Principal Consultant
With a background in computational linguistics and over twelve years in applied machine learning, Razif leads client engagements and oversees solution architecture. He has worked with organisations across manufacturing, logistics, and public administration.
Siti Cahaya
Computer Vision Lead
Siti specialises in image classification, object detection, and OCR systems. She leads the technical delivery of computer vision engagements and has a particular strength in building datasets from client-specific operational environments.
Arjun Lim
NLU & Integration Architect
Arjun handles natural language system design and AI integration architecture. He brings eight years of experience in API development and distributed systems, ensuring AI outputs connect cleanly to downstream applications and business workflows.
Standards We Maintain
How we keep work reliable
Data Privacy — PDPA Alignment
All projects begin with a data handling agreement. Personal and sensitive data is processed only within the agreed scope and is not retained beyond project completion without explicit arrangement.
Validated Model Performance
Models are evaluated against defined accuracy, precision, and recall benchmarks before handover. We document baseline performance and set up monitoring to detect drift over time.
Comprehensive Documentation
Every deliverable includes technical documentation written for both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders — covering architecture, configuration, known limitations, and maintenance guidance.
Structured Review Cycles
Engagements include scheduled checkpoint reviews where findings, risks, and scope adjustments are discussed openly with clients. No significant technical decisions are made without client awareness.
Version-Controlled Deliverables
All code, model weights, and configuration files are managed in version control and transferred to clients at engagement end. You leave with the full artefact, not just a running service.
Knowledge Transfer Sessions
We conduct structured handover sessions with your technical and operations teams. The goal is for your people to feel comfortable managing and adjusting the system well after we've wrapped up.
Applied AI expertise for Malaysian organisations
Pulsarai operates at the intersection of machine learning research and operational deployment. Our work spans computer vision, natural language processing, and integration architecture — three disciplines that, when applied thoughtfully, can meaningfully reduce manual effort, surface patterns in complex data, and give organisations better information for their decisions.
Based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, we serve clients across the Klang Valley and across Malaysia. Industries we have supported include food and beverage manufacturing, logistics and warehousing, financial services, healthcare administration, and digital retail. Each engagement is shaped around the specific context of the client — their data, their team, their infrastructure, and their goals.
What distinguishes our work is not a proprietary method or exclusive technology access. It is the discipline we apply to scoping, the care we put into validation, and the transparency we bring to every step. AI systems that outlast the initial project are built on clear understanding — and that starts with how we structure the engagement from day one.
